The development team has spent countless hours working with coaches at all levels to produce a very simple yet effective Player Efficiency Rating (PER) computational and statistics app. With a simple “+1 tap” the app keeps track of all points, assists, steals/tieups, blocks/deflections, rebounds, charges, missed baskets, and turnovers and automatically calculates PERs and PER/min values. In addition, there are several other useful tools built into the app. The game clock runs and automatically tracks player minutes so the coach can assess and determine playing time. There are also several counters to keep track of game fouls, timeouts, and opponent scores. Unlike many other apps that require the user to tap several times to record a statistic, Tap Stats RAW implements a +1 entry method to capture all statistics. Make a mistake? No worries, simply tap the back button to undo the entry and continue recording the stats. Finished the game and need to make additional corrections? The app allows me to create my own algorithm to calculate PERs which is important since every team values the metrics differently. During the game, players have it in the back of their minds to make plays that increase their ratings, not plays that decrease their ratings.
